![]() ![]() ![]() Kambiz Khalilian, Director for Strategic Business Development at Lattice Semiconductor commented on how its Lattice ECP5™ FPGA can help Ambarella customers by saying: “Lattice FPGAs and solutions stacks such as machine vision enable our customers and partners to quickly implement value-added embedded vision features like MIPI signal bridging and aggregation in their products. Lattice Semiconductor explained that its Lattice ECP5™ FPGA provides users with the low power co-processing necessary to convert sub-LVDS and other interface standards supported by legacy components. The Lattice ECP5™ FPGA provider wrote in the press release that many automotive and industrial systems require support for legacy interface standards incompatible with MIPI. Mitsubishi Electric recently announced it has produced what is thought to be the world’s first scene-aware interaction technology capable of highly natural and intuitive interaction with humans proving that some businesses are more interested in creating the technology themselves rather than outsourcing the work to an AI-capable supplier. The companies operations are run and supported by a team of over 750 people across five offices across four countries which include the corporate headquarters, two development centers, and two operations centers.Īccording to the MIPI Alliance, car manufacturers are interested in using MIPI components because they are mature, relatively simple to use, and help reduce the number of wires needed to connect components with MIPI specifications being well-proven, which reduces risk.Īutonomous driving is becoming a bigger trend with car manufacturers increasingly bringing elements of self-driving capabilities into its cars and manufacturers creating its own technology to incorporate into its cars. Lattice Semiconductor was founded in 1983 giving it decades of experience creating, deploying, and improving high-performance programmable logic devices that include its Lattice ECP5™ FPGA. Matthias Schindler, Head of AI at BMW Group, pointed out in his article for The AI Journal how BMW is using AI and IoT devices to create its next-gen factories and enhance the production process across various aspects ranging from quality control through to its products speed to market. NVIDIA revealed a number of technologies it was launching that included embedding smart vision applications for its autonomous vehicle technology and connected devices at its 2020 GPU Conference. We’re pleased to be working with Lattice to incorporate their low power FPGAs into our SoC platform, which further reinforces Ambarella as a preferred choice for advanced automotive and industrial solutions.” Long Xu, Director at Ambarella commented on why it chose Lattice Semiconductor by saying: “Selecting the best components for each of our products is essential to maintaining our industry leadership and ensuring that our users get the rich feature sets they need. Lattice Semiconductor claimed that by Ambarella using the Lattice ECP5™ FPGA in its CVflow system, it will enable the users of the system to leverage the latest MIPI devices in their new and existing product designs while maintaining compatibility with other system components. High-performance programmable logic devices manufacturer, Lattice Semiconductor, today announced that Ambarella selected the Lattice ECP5™ FPGA to enable MIPI bridging capabilities in systems using Ambarella CVflow® SoCs. ![]()
